Applicant lists tell you a document exists. The resume itself comes back as a file, so the assistant reads the document and compares it with the role: the three must-haves, the years on the right stack, the gap nobody mentioned in the summary. Recruiter search is its own search
Recruiter indexes candidates differently from Classic and from Sales Navigator: different filters, different ranking, its own notion of open to work. It is a distinct tool here, so a shortlist always comes from the search you meant. An agent that silently ran a Classic search would hand you a weaker list with no warning.

The right contract
Agencies and groups often hold several Recruiter contracts. Acting under the wrong one is not cosmetic: it decides which project a candidate lands in and which team sees it. The account lists its contracts and selects one explicitly rather than assuming the first.
Sorting is not contacting
Everything above is reading. Messaging a candidate is a separate, explicit action under the same daily budget as the rest of LinkedIn. That line matters more in recruiting than anywhere else: an assistant that ranks forty applications is a real gain, one that contacts them by itself is a liability — for the candidates and for you.
Keep the notes where the work happens
A ranking is only useful if it reaches your process. The output is structured, so it can go to a sheet, an ATS or a summary in your inbox rather than staying in a chat window nobody reopens.

How LinkedIn works with Nilyo
