Recruiter MCP

LinkedIn Recruiter MCP for your own seat

LinkedIn publishes no Recruiter MCP server, and generic LinkedIn MCP servers stop long before recruiting. Nilyo exposes the Recruiter seat your account already holds — candidate search with Recruiter filters, the applicants on a job, their resumes — as tools an assistant can use while you stay the one deciding.

Is there an official Recruiter MCP server?

No. Recruiter is a paid LinkedIn product with its own searches, its own projects and its own inbox, and LinkedIn opens none of it to third-party developers outside a partner programme granted case by case to applicant tracking vendors. So there is no official Recruiter MCP server, and the LinkedIn MCP servers built on the public API cannot reach any of it. Nilyo acts as your own connected account, which is why the seat you pay for becomes usable from an assistant.

One URL, OAuth, about two minutes

The server is at https://nilyo.com/mcp over streamable HTTP. Add it as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client and choose OAuth: the client registers itself, opens a browser once, and you sign in and authorize the accounts the agent may reach. No key to generate, nothing to paste into a config file.

Recruiter search is its own search

linkedin_recruiter_search_people is a distinct tool because Recruiter indexes candidates differently from both Classic and Sales Navigator: different filters, different ranking, a different notion of who is open to work. An assistant that silently ran a Classic search instead would hand you a shorter, weaker shortlist and no warning. Keeping the three separate is what makes the result trustworthy.

“Search Recruiter for backend engineers in Nantes open to a hybrid role.”
“Compare this shortlist with the candidates we already contacted.”

Applicants and resumes, where the real work is

Sourcing is the visible half; reading applications is where the hours go. linkedin_recruiter_list_applicants returns who applied to a job, linkedin_recruiter_get_applicant the detail, and linkedin_recruiter_get_applicant_resume the resume itself as a file — so an assistant can read the document and tell you which three of forty deserve a call, instead of reporting that a resume exists. The Classic job postings have the same tools on their own side.

“Read the applicants on this job and rank them against the brief.”
“Summarize this candidate’s resume against the three must-haves.”

Contracts, because an account can hold several

A recruiter often sits on more than one contract — an agency with several clients, a group with several entities. The account lists its contracts and selects the one to act under, explicitly. Acting under the wrong contract is not a display detail: it decides which project a candidate lands in and which team sees it.

The assistant sorts, you decide

Everything above is reading. Writes stay explicit and paced under the same daily budget as the rest of LinkedIn, and a message to a candidate is an action you ask for. That division matters more in recruiting than anywhere else: an assistant that ranks forty applications in a minute is a genuine gain, and one that contacts them on its own is a liability.

Common questions

Is there a LinkedIn Recruiter MCP server?

Not from LinkedIn: Recruiter is closed to third-party developers outside a case-by-case partner programme, and no official MCP server exists. Nilyo exposes the Recruiter seat on your own connected account — candidate search, projects, applicants and resumes.

Do I need a Recruiter seat?

Yes for the Recruiter tools, since the agent acts on your own account and can only reach what that account holds. Standard LinkedIn search, profiles and messaging work without one.

Can it read a candidate’s resume?

Yes, the resume comes back as a file, so an assistant can read the document itself and compare it against your brief rather than merely reporting that an attachment is present.

Is Recruiter search the same as Sales Navigator search?

No. Three products, three searches, three sets of filters. They stay distinct tools here, and an agent always knows which one produced a shortlist.

Will it message candidates by itself?

No. Reading is separate from writing, writes are explicit actions you request, and the daily action budget applies to them like everywhere else on LinkedIn.

How LinkedIn works with Nilyo

Connection. Secure hosted sign-in (your LinkedIn credentials go to LinkedIn, never to the agent). Sales Navigator and Recruiter are detected automatically when your account has them.

What your agent can do. People and company search, profile lookup from a name or URL, your network and invitations, private conversations (classic, Sales Navigator, Recruiter inboxes), posts, comments and reactions, job postings and applicants, Recruiter projects.

Pacing and safety. About 100 actions per day per account, profile views and searches included; calls are serialized so an agent can never run LinkedIn requests in parallel.

  • Profile URLs are resolved to stable profile IDs before any action.
  • Invitations carry an optional note of up to 300 characters.
  • Private or restricted profiles return an explicit “not accessible” result instead of a retry loop.
