Why there is nothing to browse
WhatsApp is not a website ChatGPT can visit. The only official programmatic route is the Business Cloud API, which is built for brands: a separate business number, message templates approved in advance, and a twenty-four hour window to answer a customer. None of that touches the conversations on your own number.
What changes once your number is paired
You scan a QR code from your phone, as you would to link the desktop app. ChatGPT then lists your conversations, reads a thread in order, tells you who is waiting on an answer, and sends a reply when you ask for one. It sees what you see — one-to-one chats, groups, attachments.

Reading is not sending
Listing and reading are read-only actions with no visible effect: nothing is marked read for your correspondent, no receipt is sent. Replying is a separate action you request, and when several contacts could match a name, nothing is sent and you are asked which one.
What it cannot do
It cannot exceed your account: no messages from chats you are not in, no reading someone else’s number. It cannot message hundreds of new people — brand new conversations are capped at twenty a day and spaced — and it cannot bypass a WhatsApp restriction. Those limits are the point, not a shortcoming.
Is the number at risk?
The behaviour that gets numbers banned is unsolicited mass first contact. Replies inside existing conversations are unrestricted, new chats are capped and spaced, and there is no browser automation involved — the connection speaks the protocol directly, like the desktop app does.

Can ChatGPT read my WhatsApp messages?
Not on its own. Pair your number with Nilyo by QR code and it reads your conversations, reports what needs an answer, and replies when you ask.
Do I need WhatsApp Business?
No. A personal or business account pairs the same way, by QR code. The Business Cloud API and its templates are only for the brand-number route.
Does my phone need to stay on?
No. Once paired the session is independent, like any linked device.
Can it answer automatically while I am away?
It can, if you ask for that explicitly — and the sane version is a single out-of-hours reply per person, never a loop. Reading never sends by itself.
