Ask what was agreed, not what was said
The useful question is rarely summarize this chat. It is what did we agree on the delivery, did anyone confirm the price, what is still open. Those need the exchange read in order, and they are exactly what scrolling back through a thread fails to answer reliably.

Groups are the real backlog
A busy group produces hundreds of messages you will never catch up on. The agent reads it and tells you what was decided, what concerns you and what was addressed to you directly — without posting anything in it. Listings mark groups and channels separately, so it knows where it may answer.
Voice notes count as messages
A large share of real WhatsApp traffic is audio. Attachments come back as files, so a voice note can be transcribed and summarized with the rest of the thread rather than appearing as a gap in the conversation the agent could not read.
Reading has no visible effect
Nothing is marked read for your correspondent, no receipt is sent, nothing is answered. That is worth knowing before you point an assistant at a private inbox: reading and replying are different actions, and only one of them is visible to anyone else.
What is waiting on you
The other version of this question is triage: which conversations have a last message that is not yours. That is more useful on a Monday than any summary, and it is the same read done once across every chat.
Search that actually spans the thread
WhatsApp search matches words, so finding the message where a price was agreed means guessing which word was used. Asking what was agreed lets the agent read the exchange and answer from it, which is a different operation entirely — and the one you actually wanted when you typed price into the search box.
