Add Nilyo, then scan the code
Add the Nilyo app in ChatGPT, or enable developer mode and add a connector with the URL https://nilyo.com/mcp and OAuth. Then ask for anything WhatsApp: if the number is not connected, the answer carries a card with the QR code, you scan it from your phone as you would to link the desktop app, and you repeat the request.
Start with what is waiting on you
The useful first question is not show me my messages, it is what have I not answered. That needs reading each conversation and checking who wrote last, which is exactly the tedious pass a person skips on a Monday morning.

Reading is not sending
Listing and reading have no visible effect: nothing is marked read for the other person, no receipt is sent. Replying is a separate action you ask for, and if several contacts could match a name, nothing is sent and you are asked which.
Voice notes come back as audio
Attachments are returned as files, so ChatGPT can transcribe a voice note, read a PDF quote or describe a photo of a delivery slip and act on the content — rather than telling you a message contains an attachment it cannot open.
When it does not work
The QR code expired: it refreshes about every forty seconds, ask again for a fresh one. It says it cannot see your messages: the session dropped, and the card carries the reconnection link. It refuses to start a conversation: twenty brand new chats a day per account, spaced — replies inside existing ones are unrestricted.
Run it as a morning task
Once the connector is in place a ChatGPT task can run the same prompt every weekday: what came in on WhatsApp overnight, which threads are waiting on you, which mention a price or a date. Reading sends nothing, so it is one of the few things genuinely safe to put on a schedule — and it is the pass nobody does by hand before the first coffee.

Yes, once the number is paired by QR code. It reads your conversations and replies when you ask; reading never sends anything.
Do I need WhatsApp Business?
No. Personal or business accounts pair the same way; templates and the Business Cloud API belong to the brand-number route.
Does my phone have to stay online?
No. Once paired the session is independent, like any linked device.
Can it message someone new?
Yes, within twenty new conversations a day per account, spaced fifteen seconds apart. Replies to people who already wrote to you are unrestricted.
