Claude + Telegram

Connect your Telegram to Claude

Almost every Telegram integration drives a bot: a separate identity that cannot write to anyone who has not written to it first. Connecting your own account through Nilyo gives Claude your real conversations and groups, and Claude is well suited to the part that hurts on Telegram — long, noisy group threads.

Add the connector

In Claude, open settings, go to connectors and add a custom connector with the URL https://nilyo.com/mcp and OAuth. Claude registers itself, opens a browser once, and you authorize the accounts it may reach. Telegram itself is connected in Nilyo with a QR code or a phone code, once.

Account, not bot

A bot has its own name, cannot start a conversation, and sees only part of a group depending on its privacy mode. Your own account keeps the history, the groups you belong to and the identity your contacts recognize — so an answer arrives from you, in the thread where the question was asked.

Groups are where the reading pays off

A busy Telegram group produces hundreds of messages you will never scroll back through. Claude reads the thread and tells you what was decided, what is still open and what was addressed to you — without posting anything in it. Chats, groups and channels are marked as such in the listing, so it can summarize a channel and answer only in the direct conversation.

“Summarize what I missed in my Telegram groups since yesterday.”
“Which Telegram conversations are waiting for an answer from me?”

Writing stays yours

Reading a conversation never sends anything, and a reply is an explicit action. On Telegram that distinction is easy to lose because the interface makes answering instant — here it stays a request you make, with the recipient resolved from a name first.

“Send a Telegram to Marc with the address for tomorrow.”

No invented daily budget

Unlike LinkedIn or Instagram, Telegram carries no local cap here: calls are serialized per account so nothing runs in parallel, and Telegram’s own limits apply. We would rather say where a budget exists and where it does not than publish a reassuring number that does nothing.

Common questions

Can Claude read my Telegram messages?

Yes, once your own Telegram account is connected. It lists conversations, groups and channels, reads a thread and can answer when you ask — as you, not as a bot.

Why not use a Telegram bot?

A bot cannot message someone who has not written to it first, appears under its own name and sees only part of a group. It suits broadcast notifications; it does not suit answering your existing conversations.

How is Telegram connected?

With a QR code or a phone code, once, in Nilyo. If the session expires you reconnect the same account rather than creating a second one.

Can it summarize a group without posting in it?

Yes. Reading and writing are separate actions, and listings mark groups and channels so it knows what it is reading.

How Telegram works with Nilyo

Connection. QR code shown in the conversation (Telegram › Settings › Devices) or a code sent to your phone.

What your agent can do. Chats, groups and channels, message history, sending text and media, reactions.

Pacing and safety. No local budget; calls are serialized per account.

  • Groups and channels appear in the chat list with their type, so the agent can summarize a channel or answer in a group on request.
