Calendar + Zapier

Connect your calendar to Zapier

Zapier has its own Google Calendar app, and for one Google account it is fine. Nilyo is worth adding when the same Zap has to span a Google and a Microsoft calendar, or when the calendar step sits beside LinkedIn, WhatsApp or a mailbox on the same connection.

How to connect

On the Zapier Apps page add an MCP Client connection: Server URL https://nilyo.com/mcp, Transport Streamable HTTP, OAuth Yes. A browser window opens to authorize — the same Nilyo sign-in ChatGPT and Claude use, not a Zapier-specific account. Every calendar you connected in Nilyo is then reachable from the same connection.

What becomes available

Listing the calendars of an account, listing events in a window, opening one event with its attendees, creating an event, updating it, cancelling or restoring it, and answering an invitation. The account is named per step, so a Zap can read a personal calendar and write to a work one without a second connection.

Read steps and write steps are not equal

Listing calendars and events is safe on every run. Creating or changing an event emails the attendees, so those steps belong behind a filter or an approval, and a Zap that retries on error will invite people twice. Treat a calendar write like sending a message, because for the guests that is exactly what it is.

Which calendar, and whose

An account usually holds several calendars, and a Zap that writes to the wrong one is invisible until somebody misses a meeting. Resolve the calendar by id with a list step and reuse it, rather than typing the label you see in the interface: labels are renamed, ids are not. The same applies to the account itself when a personal and a professional one are both connected.

A concrete Zap

A deal moves to won in your CRM; the Zap creates the kickoff event on the work calendar with the client’s contacts as attendees, then sends the confirmation from your own mailbox through the same connection. One authorization covers the calendar and the mailbox, which is the part a per-app integration makes tedious.

“When a deal is won, create the kickoff event and email the confirmation.”
“When an event is created, add the guests to the CRM.”

Common questions

Why not Zapier’s own Google Calendar app?

For a single Google account it is a fine choice. Nilyo pays off when a Zap spans Google and Microsoft calendars, or when the calendar sits beside LinkedIn, WhatsApp or a mailbox on one connection and one authorization.

Does it work with Outlook calendars?

Yes, with the same steps as Google. The account is chosen per step by its identifier.

Can it create events and invite attendees?

Yes. Since attendees are emailed, put those steps behind a filter or an approval and avoid automatic retries, which would invite people twice.

How Calendar works with Nilyo

Connection. Included with a Google or Microsoft sign-in: one identity gives email and calendar and counts as one account.

What your agent can do. Calendars, events in a date range, creating, updating, cancelling and restoring events, RSVPs.

Pacing and safety. No local budget.

  • Combine with LinkedIn and email for meeting briefs: attendees are matched to profiles and past conversations.
