Install the Nilyo extension in Gemini CLI

The public Nilyo Gemini CLI extension preview enables selected read tools. It has been submitted for automatic gallery discovery; gallery acceptance and real runtime compatibility are not yet confirmed.

Prepare your accounts

Install Gemini CLI and configure its own model access. In your Nilyo account, connect the communication accounts you need and create an individual personal token. This token authorizes private account access. Never use a Unipile key or put the token in a prompt, repository or screenshot.

Install the extension

Run the installation command shown below using the public nilyo-com/nilyo-gemini repository. The installation setting requests the Nilyo token as a sensitive value. Review permissions, enter the token in that setting and restart the CLI. The package stores no provider API credential.

Check selected tools

Inspect /mcp and ask for your connected accounts. The extension permits a reviewed set of reads and resolvers; sending messages, deleting data, connecting accounts and billing changes are excluded. The token itself retains normal Nilyo permissions: the extension filter is not a server-side read-only grant.

“Which accounts are connected to Nilyo?”
“Summarize WhatsApp messages received today and tell me whether the result is complete.”

Recovery and release status

Use the Nilyo dashboard for account connection, reconnection and subscription recovery. Revoke the personal token there to stop future calls. Static manifests and connector contracts pass; installation, sensitive-setting expansion and actual provider reads remain unverified. The public release is a preview. Gemini Apps eligibility restrictions do not describe CLI availability.

Common questions

Do I need OAuth for this extension?

This preview uses an individual Nilyo personal token configured as a sensitive installation setting.

Can the extension send messages?

No. The packaged tool selection is limited to reads. Do not remove restrictions just to work around an unsupported request.
